Phase-matched detection of CO 2 laser radiation by non-linear upconversion in AgGaS 2 is reported for both type-I and type-II interactions. The crystal is pumped by a Nd:YAG laser while the signal is supplied from a CO 2 laser tunable from 9.2 to 10.8 mu m.
