Unlike Y-Ba-Cu-O, the Nd-Ba-Cu-O system forms a Nd 1+ x Ba 2- x Cu 3 O 7-δ -type solid solution (Nd123ss). Recently, it was found that Nd123ss with x <0 can be stabilized at high temperatures under a low oxygen partial pressure, P (O 2 ). In the present study, we further confirmed the presence of a Ba-rich Nd123ss single phase through the investigation of the x dependence of lattice parameters and the P (O 2 ) dependence of the peritectic decomposition temperatures in Nd123ss samples with various x values.
