Vulvitis is a common clinical finding in diabetic girls. In a study of the yeast flora in 160 cases, 92 of which were followed through several months, Candida albicans was the commonest species and almost always present in cases of vulvitis. Where other species, especially Candida krusei and Torulopsis glabrata, were found without C. albicans, they showed saprophytic behavior.
