Technical report details the deployment of a dual cloud and semantic ecosystem for cultural heritage, highlighting integrated service hosting and data interoperability.
D7.2 documents the implementation of the ARTEMIS infrastructure up to the launch phase foreseen in June 2026. It is part of Work Package 7, Infrastructure Setup, and prepares the continuation of infrastructure activities in WP8. The deliverable shows how the project has moved from the design described in D7.1 to a functioning infrastructure capable of supporting the services developed in WP9 and the pilots defined in WP11. The purpose of the infrastructure is to provide both a technological and a semantic foundation. The technological foundation allows ARTEMIS partners to develop, test and deploy services in a controlled cloud environment. The semantic foundation allows cultural heritage information to be organised through shared concepts and relationships, so that different data sources can be connected and interpreted together. This dual nature is important. ARTEMIS is not only building software services, nor only building data models. The project requires an ecosystem in which services, data, users and pilots can communicate. D7.2 describes how this ecosystem is taking shape: through cloud platforms, secure access mechanisms, shared resource management, an ontology-based Knowledge Base and interfaces for human and machine access. The document also clarifies the roles of the main infrastructure tasks. The cloud infrastructure is led by INFN and provides the hosting and operational environment. The data infrastructure is led by ARIADNE and provides the semantic framework and Knowledge Base. The services infrastructure is closely linked to the cloud infrastructure because the services must run within the platform and interact with the data layer. This Extended Executive Summary provides a concise overview of the ARTEMIS infrastructure components.
