Simulation study demonstrates suppression of bursting oscillations in combined wind farms using an adaptive controller, highlighting enhanced grid stability under external disturbances.
Bursting oscillations occur in DFIG and PMSG combined wind farm under external disturbances and lead to the instability problems. To reveal the bursting oscillation characteristics and develop a suppression method, a fast‐slow dynamics analysis method and an improved adaptive high‐order differential feedback controller (AHODFC) based on impulse suppression is proposed. The fast‐slow dynamics analysis method is adopted to reveal the mechanism by which bursting oscillations are generated in DFIG and PMSG combined wind farm. The control strategy based on an AHODFC with an improved high‐order differentiator (HOD) is proposed to address the bursting oscillations. The improved AHODFC has smooth control rate characteristics and strong antidisturbance ability to different types of bursting oscillations caused by different disturbance amplitudes and system parameters. A simulation verifies the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.
