Theoretical analysis demonstrates a geometric framework of tangent lemniscates for distinct continuants, highlighting how entities relate without identity merger.
This essay develops the Gaitan Topology beyond the earlier model of a single cosmic lemniscate. Following the recognition that each continuant has its own lemniscatic history and its own crossing, the essay asks how distinct histories can genuinely relate without merging, sharing a crossing, or requiring a universal Now. Three possibilities are examined and rejected: isolated coexistence, convergence into one curve, and a shared crossing that would recreate a local universal Now. The essay proposes tangency as a fourth possibility: distinct lemniscates can come into genuine contact without becoming one another's history. Crossing therefore belongs to a continuant's becoming, while tangency belongs to the relation between continuants. The distinction is developed through the concepts of contact without identity, sustained tangency, and presence without participation. A relation may transform a history without commandeering its trajectory; one being can enter another's history without entering its crossing. The essay further considers asymmetrical relations, the Ground as what sustains both curves and their relation without becoming a third participant, and the extension from dyadic relation toward community. The tangent lemniscate is not proposed as a physical theory or mathematical proof, nor as a multiverse claim. It is a structural metaphysical model offered provisionally: a geometry of becoming-without-merger, in which distinct beings can genuinely encounter one another while remaining distinct.
