Case report reveals significant workflow time reductions using human-centric AI and preservation platforms in academic archives, suggesting enhanced capacity for high-value curation.
Workshop 2 explored the latest innovations in Digital Preservation with a focus on how organisations are leveraging human-centric AI to transform archival workflows. Tasks that once demanded days or weeks of manual effort can now be completed in hours or minutes, enabling teams to direct their expertise toward higher-value work including curation, research, and advocacy. Guest speaker Ailie O'Hagan, Digital Preservation Librarian at Queen's University Belfast, delivered the talk "Levelling Up Digital Preservation at Queen's: A 3-Year Quest with Preservica", an honest, practitioner-led account of implementing Preservica as a Digital Preservation platform, exploring how different workflows were developed to suit varied teams and content types. There will also be the opportunity to connect with peers, share experiences, and have conversations around the types of challenges you're facing, as you take part in a collaborative roundtable discussion. Attendees will leave with practical insights, fresh ideas and a clearer sense of where the latest tools can fit into your Digital Preservation workflows.
