The concepts of a perfectly conducting material and of a perfectly conducting and infinitely thin screen are revisited from a theoretical point of view. When both the resistivity and the thickness of a conducting film tend to zero, the properties of the infinitely thin resulting film depend on how the two vanishing parameters are linked during the limiting process.
