2D speckle tracking echocardiography identifies papillary muscle dysfunction causing mitral regurgitation in cardiac sarcoidosis.
Case Report (n=1)
No
Myocardial strain analysis by 2D speckle tracking echocardiography is useful for diagnosing papillary muscle dysfunction as a cause of mitral regurgitation in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis.

Yoneda et al. (2016) conducted a case report in Cardiac sarcoidosis with mitral regurgitation (n=1). 2-Dimensional Speckle Tracking Echocardiography was evaluated on Strain value of the papillary muscles. Two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography quantitatively identified posterior papillary muscle dysfunction (systolic strain +5.9%) as the cause of mitral regurgitation in cardiac sarcoidosis.
