Phytoalexins of Hyacinth Bean (Lablab niger)

Seven isoflavonoid phytoalexins have been isolated from the fungus inoculated hypocotyls of Lablab niger and identified as the isoflavone 2′-hydroxygenistein, the isoflavanones dalbergioidin and kievitone, the pterocarpan phaseollidin and the isofiavans demethyivestitol, isovestitol and iaxifloran. Small quantities of the 2-arylbenzofuran, vignafuran, were also detected.
