Lithium/silver vanadium oxide defibrillator batteries demonstrate reliable performance with no failures observed during long-term simulated clinical testing.
Long-term cell testing supports further battery development for defibrillators; leaves open clinical translation pending human trials.
This article describes the life testing of lithium/silver vanadium oxide defibrillator batteries. Batteries were tested at 37 degrees C under conditions which simulate clinical conditions. A total of 788 cells are currently under test. No failures have been observed, and cells are performing normally.
