The synthesis of the racemates of the alkaloids sedamine and sedridine, the separation of the racemates, and their resolution into optical antipodes are described, with the exception of the resolution of (±)‐ allo sedridine and so far as no earlier information about these subjects has been given by us. The results are compared with data about the natural products obtained from Sedum acre and Lobelia inflata .
