Why the study?
Following interrupted transmission of wild polioviruses and vaccine-derived polioviruses in Cameroon and the withdrawal of Sabin type 2 from routine immunization in April 2016, this study investigated the detection rates and overtime distribution of polioviruses recovered from urban sewage.
