Machining of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) composite materials is an alarmingly fast developing area in the recent years. Drilling of composite materials as a machining operation is a field open to a plethora of questions. The Delamination induced by drilling acts as a hindrance to the application, as the hole acts as a stress concentrating layout leading to failure during loading. Granite fiber reinforced epoxy composites are a class of composites that are highly reliable due to their effective strength-to-weight ratio and stiffness-to-weight ratio. The present research endeavour is an effort to investigate the influence of process parameters such as feed and cutting speed during drilling of Granite fiber reinforced composites. Standard array, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and response surface methodology are used to conduct investigations based on the experimental results. Mathematical models for thrust force, torque, and Delamination are proposed that agree well with the experimental values.
