It is shown that a likely nonlinear state for resistive interchange modes is one where stabilization is achieved by flow-induced plasma compression and in which velocity vortex structure is balanced on Ohmic dissipation. Macroscopically this is manifested as magnetic diffusion and anomalous energy transport. The results are discussed and compared with recent experiments.
