Plasma Flow Measurements in Linear Divertor Simulator MAP‐II Using Mach Probe and Directional Langmuir Probe

The plasma flow in a steady‐state fusion divertor/edge plasma simulatorMAP‐II is measured using both aMach Probe and a Directional Langmuir Probe. Errors caused by the non‐thermal high‐energy electrons in estimating the flow velocity were demonstrated. The difference of the local flow velocities measured by these probes is observed. In order to verify these values, the Doppler shift of the ion line emission along the line‐of sight was measured in order to evaluate the absolute value of the flow velocity.
