A total of 153 krypton respnan ces in th e s pec t ral region 330-500 A and 253 xenon resonances in the s pectral region 375-600 A a re reported. A de tail ed li sti ng of th e reso na nces is give n, with wa ve' le ngth and lin e s hape information. Th e analysis of th e s pectra is ve ry in co mpl ete and will require detailed theo re ti cal calculat ion to signifi ca ntly improve it. In Kr,45 re so nances and in Xe, 56 resonances have bee n gro uped into probab le Rydberg se ri es, fo r whi c h classifications are s uggested. Th e reso nances are du e, in the main , to either the excitation of the inner subshe ll "s" electron (S2p 6 --> Sp6 np) or to the excitation of two of the outer " p" e le ctron s simu ltaneous ly (S2p6--> s2p4nln'I'). Th ese hi gh lying excited states autoionize, res ultin g in reso nances with window, asymmetric, or absorptiontype profiles. Where poss ibl e, co mparisons are made with pre vious work.
