The synthesis of benzo[ f ]chromene was accomplished by a one‐pot three‐component condensation reaction between β ‐naphthol, trans‐β‐ nitrostyrene and 37% formalin solution in the presence of triethylamine under 80 °C. The formation of product occurs through a 1,2‐naphthoquinone‐1‐methide reactive intermediate. The attractive features of this protocol are: use of simple reaction procedure, high bond‐forming efficiency, good yield, and environmentally benign reaction conditions.
