Abstract 1‐Alkynyl ethynyl sulfides RC≡CS‐C≡CH (2) are easily accessible starting from 1‐alkynyl trimethylsilylethynyl sulfides RC≡CS‐C≡CSi(CH3)3(1). When compounds2are treated with sodium sulfide, selenide or telluride in methanol 1,4‐dithiins, 1,4‐thiaselenins and 1,4‐thiatellurins are obtained in good yields.
