Genomic study reports a high-quality chromosome-level assembly of female Rhagonycha lignosa, highlighting genetic resources for beetle biodiversity and evolution.
We present a genome assembly from an individual female Rhagonycha lignosa (Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Cantharidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 554.74 megabases. Most of the assembly (94.64%) is scaffolded into 7 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 18.62 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
