Technical review demonstrates comprehensive seismic processing and imaging capabilities across diverse geological basins, highlighting decades of algorithmic evolution in digital exploration...
CubeTechnology is an integrated seismic data processing and interpretation platform developed and applied for more than three decades. The presentation summarizes the history, architecture, principal algorithms, software components, and practical applications of the system in exploration seismology and engineering seismics. The presentation describes the development of CubeTechnology from its origins in seismic interpretation systems of the late Soviet period to its implementation on personal computers and modern Windows platforms. Particular attention is given to the VisualCube multi-window graphical environment, internal seismic data formats, acquisition-geometry processing, spectral analysis and filtering, Prony analysis, velocity analysis, migration and demigration, multifocusing methods, seismic-stratigraphic modeling and stacking, diffraction imaging, AVO data preparation, RGB seismic imaging for direct hydrocarbon indication, thin-bed thickness estimation, and technologies for estimating oil-and-gas resources. Examples of processing and interpretation of seismic data from Western and Eastern Siberia, the Lake Baikal area, Kazakhstan, Canada, and other regions are presented. The material also outlines the mathematical and physical foundations underlying the CubeTechnology processing workflows and their implementation in seismic research and production practice. The presentation provides an overview of more than 30 years of development and practical use of CubeTechnology as an integrated environment linking seismic-data processing, interpretation, visualization, and geological analysis.
