Compared with global input‐to‐state stability (ISS), the concept of local input‐to‐state stability (LISS) is more practical for engineering applications. In order to reduce the conservativeness and achieve better estimate in LISS analysis, a systematic algorithm for estimating the local region of LISS is proposed in this study. A set description of the convergence region is developed to improve the accuracy of the estimated asymptotic gain. All the constraints in the proposed methodology have been formulated as sum of squares conditions of which the feasibility is ensured by fully discussed principles. The detailed analysis on numerical and practical examples demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.
