High resolution autoradiography techniques are used to study the electromigration phenomenon in aluminum conductors (enriched with Al26). By microdensitometric curves it is possible to evaluate the mean ionic velocity during the electromigration process at two temperatures (175 and 183 °C). The Boltaks model for „forced”︁ diffusion enables the estimation of the aluminum grain boundary self-diffusion coefficient at 180 °C.
