Various azltibacterial agents have been used in .efforts to overcome the problems associated with the presence of bacteria in bull semen used for artificial breeding Earlier invcstigati(ms at this Experiment Station (1) upon the use of penicillin in diluted bull semen showed that certain organisms were resistant to penicillin at levels as high as 2,000 units per ml. Since streptomycin inhibits the growth of a number of organisms which are insusceptible or only slightly susceptible to penicillin, it seemed desirable to study its effect on bacteria commonly found in bull semen.
