Near infrared (ħω>|ϵ0|) and submillimeter magnetotransmission experiments have been performed on zero‐gap Hg1‐kMnkTe alloys (k ≦ 2%). The observation of impurity magnetooptical transitions is crucially dependent on the Mn composition. The experimental results obtained in both the photon energy ranges indicate that the acceptor level is located below the upper valence level bV(−1) for Mn content k ≧ 0.8%.
