Small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) studies clearly demonstrate a reinforcement of the nematic “jacketed” structure as the degree of polymerization decreases for a “side-on fixed” liquid crystal polysiloxane. In addition, we show that the dilution of the mesogenic content in a copolymeric homologous strongly reduces the anisotropy of the global polymer conformation.
