The critical behaviour of the diamagnetic susceptibility of two-dimensional lattices at the percolation threshold is studied numerically by a transfer-matrix algorithm, very close to the one that allows the computation of the resistance of a lattice. We obtain an estimate of the critical exponent for the susceptibility χ ∼ ( p − p c ) b , b = 1.36 ± 0.02 in better agreement with the conjecture b = 2ν − t , than with the one b = 2ν − t + β.
