As Editor of this Journal for a full year now, I have been able to institute some minor changes in format and content. These have not radically altered a quarterly publication which essentially reports the clinical and scientific endeavours of some of our Fellows and a few overseas ophthalmologists.Does the Journal truly reflect the standard of scientific and clinical reports produced throughout our two countries? The answer is clearly no, as those who have scanned the new Abstracts section will see. This has been a perennial problem. How do we encourage authors to publish their best work in a journal with a relatively small circulation?
