Multi-omics analysis reveals genetic regulation of DNA methylation in Chinese colon cancer samples, highlighting mechanisms underlying colorectal cancer susceptibility.
Methylation quantitative trait loci (meQTLs) are essential for understanding the role of DNA methylation in the genetic susceptibility to colorectal cancer (CRC). However, studies of meQTLs in East Asians and at single base-pair resolution are relatively scarce. We conducted multi-omics analysis using the whole-genome bisulfite sequencing and RNA sequencing in colon cancer samples from 250 Chinese individuals, including methylome and transcriptome correlations (eQTMs) and genetic regulation in cis (meQTLs and eQTLs).
