Simulation study demonstrates robust fault estimation and fault-tolerant control in discrete-time switched nonlinear systems, indicating effective compensation for intermittent actuator faults.
In this paper, for discrete‐time switched nonlinear systems with intermittent actuator faults and external disturbances, the issues of fault estimation (FE) and fault‐tolerant control (FTC) are investigated. To this end, we propose an intermediate observer (IO) and a disturbance observer (DO) to simultaneously estimate the states of the system, actuator faults, and external disturbances. Different from conventional IOs, the developed observer incorporates an output estimation error feedback term. Following this, we propose an observer‐based fault‐tolerant controller. At last, through two simulation examples, we verify the efficacy of the approach which is presented.
