Theoretical analysis uncovers conditions for Ricci solitons on cotangent bundles with the Sasaki metric, highlighting geometric structures under Ricci flow.
Ricci solitons arise as natural generalizations of Einstein metrics and play a fundamental role in the theory of geometric flows. In this paper, we study the cotangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold equipped with the Sasaki metric from the viewpoint of Ricci soliton geometry. First, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for a vector field on the cotangent bundle to be Killing with respect to the Sasaki metric. Next, we obtain characterizations under which the cotangent bundle becomes an Einstein manifold or admits a Ricci soliton and a gradient Ricci soliton. Several special cases are also discussed.
