C‐2′ bromo‐substituted cinchona alkaloid compound BrQ3 was synthesized from quinine. We found that BrQ3 was a useful chiral monomer of the polymerization using the Mizoroki–Heck reaction. Mizoroki–Heck polymerization of BrQ3 smoothly occurred to give linear polymer PBrQ3 in high yield. Not only linear polymer (PBrQ3) by the self polycondensation but hyperbranched derivatives were also prepared from BrQ3 in the presence of tribromo aromatic compounds. Catalytic efficiency of the synthesized polymer and hyperbranched derivatives was investigated on the asymmetric Michael addition reaction. A high level of asymmetric induction occurred with the polymeric chiral catalysts.
