A proof based on microscopic theory is given for the existence of a T 2 ln T term in the temperature dependence of the susceptibility of normal paramagnetic metals and Fermi liquids. Comparison with experiments on Pd, YCo 2 , LuCo 2 , U 2 C 3 , He 3 and Ni 3 Ga is discussed.
