Incomplete gamma curves were fitted to data of percent production per week for laying hens by using linear regression to estimate the parameters in the logarithmic transformation of the equation. However, incomplete gamma curves are incapable of predicting an abrupt change from increasing to decreasing production. As a result, predictions of production of laying hens using incomplete gamma curves are highly biased during most of the laying cycle.
