Clinical characteristics, electrocardiogram, and laboratory and pathological findings were reported to New York and classified according to the American Heart Association U. S. Public Health Service criteria. Completeness of reporting was checked by independent review of 1, 735 death certificates, representing 98% of all deaths in the System in 1964.
