Amino acid sequence of hFSHβ has been derived from the sequences of the tryptic and thermolytic peptides of the reduced and carboxymethylated subunit. hFSHβ consists of 115 residues. Two carbohydrate moieties are linked at positions 7 and 24. Heterogeneity exists at the NH2-terminus and COOH-terminus. hFSHβ exhibits surprisingly greater sequence homology with hTSHβ (49 identical positions) than with hLHβ (39 identical positions).
