Plasma secretin was followed for 24 h in 6 healthy young males having four regular meals with water allowed freely, and performing their usual activities. Initially after each meal, plasma secretin was suppressed non-significantly before it started to rise. The observed delayed postprandial rises in plasma secretin was significant and transient after dinner, and significant and prolonged after the evening meal.
