We present measurements of the electrooptic coefficient rc in Lithium Niobate crystals for two sets of samples, pure crystals with different compositions and doped crystals grown from lithium rich melt with different concentrations of Cr doping. Results show that the electrooptic properties depend stronger on the extrinsic defects than on the intrinsic defects.
