An experimental study of the blending, thermal transitions, phase morphology, and mechanical properties of poly(p‐phenylene sulfide) (PPS)/polyamide blends is presented. Nylon‐6, rubber modified nylon‐6, nylon‐66, nylon‐11, nylon‐12, and two partially aromatic amorphous polyamides were included in the study. Generally, blends of PPS with aromatic amorphous polyamides exhibit better mechanical properties than those with aliphatic polyamides. The blends with nylon‐12 exhibit the best characteristics among the aliphatic polyamides.
