The energy resolution in the Compton profile measurements by a solid state detector (SSD) depends on the scattering angle. As the energy of photons becomes higher, the optimum scattering angle begins to decrease instead of remaining at 180°. This is a merit for the measurement, but at the same time there is a demerit of lowering of counting efficiency of an SSD, which has also been estimated.
