Simple Synthesis of a Sequential 2,2’-Bipyridine/Catechol Ligand and Preliminary Coordination Studies

Coordination of 8 to Fe(II) ions results in a mixture of two isomeric compounds mer/fac-12 where bonding occurs by interaction of the metal with the bipyridine units.
