Oleo polymer coatings provide a paradigm shift in traditional corrosion control. Herein, the present work provides new insights into solventless tung oil (TO) polyetheramide-cerium oxide (UTOPETA-CeO 2 ) nanocomposite coatings, which may act as a promising alternative to the conventional coating materials and provide protection through the formation of barriers via an intrinsic protective mechanism. The polysorbate-enveloped cerium oxide-reinforced polyetheramide nanocomposite coatings exhibited excellent bifunctional properties, that is, anticorrosive and anti-icing, at the coating–metal interface. The Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, stain resistance, water absorption, and anti-icing analysis were conducted on urethanated TO polyetheramide (UTOPETA) and (UTOPETA-CeO 2 - x ) nanocomposites. The anticorrosive performance of these materials was investigated using potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and salt spray test in 0.25 M H 2 SO 4, HCl, and NaCl solutions. These studies revealed that TO nanocomposite coatings exhibited superior adhesion, hydrophobic behavior, and negligible water absorption than other such reported systems.
