The critical current density j c (B,T, Theta ) of epitaxial YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7-G d and Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O 8+x films has been measured in detail. In the 2D regime, j c ( Theta ) depends only on the field component B//c for both materials. An improved j c ( Theta ) model for YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7- delta accounts for isotropic pinning centers in the 3D regime.
