Absorption and emission spectra of the Pb2+ ion‐cation vacancy complexes are measured. The existence of two emission bands due to aggregate centres and their shift to lower energies are explained using a model of Pb2+ luminescent centres in the framework of Johnson and Williams' thermodynamical theory.
