Calculation of Compton profiles from non-primitive crystals is considered using linear combinations of atomic orbitals based on Löwdin's symmetrical orthogonalization. Expressions for isotropic and directional profiles, derived earlier by the author for primitive crystals, are generalized for non-primitive crystals. The main directions in hexagonal close-packed and symmorphic cubic structures are considered in detail. The isotropic and directional profiles are calculated for the hexagonal metals Be, Mg and Zn in a simple approximation. The results are in good agreement with the corresponding experimental data with the exception of anisotropy effects in the profiles of Mg and Zn.
