In the following case report C. equi was isolated in pure culture from a lung abscess and subcutaneous abscess in a patient with an impaired immune mechanism. The characteristics of this species and its significance in veterinary medicine are discussed.CASE REPORTPatient J. C., a 29-year-old white man, was admitted to the University Hospitals in January 1966 for the seventh time because of a nodular infiltrate in the right upper lobe that progressed to a cavitating lesion...References1.
