A general technique for solving a large class of well-posed inverse eigenvalue problems is illustrated by means of a specific example. The example considered consists in reconstructing the coefficients p(x) and q(x) associated with the eigenvalue problem u(4) - (pu′)′ + qu = λu from a knowledge of three spectra.
