I–U characteristics obtained from SCLC measurements are analysed according to a new method, by which the parameters of trap distributions (energy and density of trapping centres) are obtained without introducing an a-priori hypothesis regarding the nature of the distributions themselves. A simplified version of the method is also presented, which avoids the use of particular computation techniques. The results obtained with the complete method and with the simplified one are discussed and compared with the results of previous analysis performed with usual methods. Good agreement is obtained.
