In many radioisotope scan display systems the data are presented to the observer as an array of marks or symbols. The range of data is subdivided into levels, each represented by a particular type of mark or symbol. This subdivision is generally arbitrary, depending more on the number of different marks or symbols available than on any guiding principle. The author provides assistance on the selection of levels in multi-level display systems.
