Recent group-theoretical investigations connected with problems of classical Landau theory are discussed. The concept of exomorphism of group-subgroup relations enables us to classify the transitions into mathematically equivalent types. This opens a way for systemization of phase transitions in which the solution of all mathematical problems can be performed for these abstract types only. In particular, the complete theory of thermodynamic potentials is outlined on the basis of the theory of extended integrity bases.
